Advice

SEN provides advice on the establishment, development of and support for, embryonic or aspiring social enterprises. Part of this advice involves sign-posting groups to a range of appropriate support, delivered by other organisations, including by SEN members.

SEN brokers consortia, drawn from its members, to deliver a range of other services, including business start-up advice & counselling; communication & marketing; etc. If you are looking for a social economy solution to your needs, contact SEN first and if we cannot help directly, we will pass you onto an organisation who can.

Training

SEN designs and delivers training packages in Social Accounting & Audit, Training for Trainers and Training for Social Audit Panel chairs; from introductory sessions to comprehensive programmes, including modules on graduate and post-graduate HE courses. These can be customised to fit the requirements of accrediting bodies and/or the needs of the customer organisation.

Social Audit

SEN is committed to the Social Accounting & Audit model of accountability to stakeholders and measurement of the effectiveness and impact of the organisation. SEN is a member of the Social Audit Network - SAN and actively contributes to the development of the model.

It publishes a Social Audit Manual and CD, developed and produced in partnership with Community Business Scotland – CBS, for sale at £25 + postage and packaging to social enterprises.

Marketing

In partnership with others, SEN offers advice, strategy development and training in marketing and media communication.
